I dont know that I have had enough Nasdaq filled orders to really have a
representative sample, but the average turn around on the S&P 500 pit is
between 20 and 45 seconds on market orders. Fills from CUBS2 terminals in
Lean Hogs, Live Cattle and British Pounds have similar turn-around times. |

| If you are going to start trading the Nasdaq online, it would be my
suggestion to start with the E-mini Nasdaq and get up the learning curve for
online trading before putting more money at risk with the larger contract. |
| Before the market opens I notice there are DOW and Nasdaq futures listed on
Bloomberg TV. Usually if the futures say +150 on the DOW and +50 on Nasdaq,
both indexes will be up close to that amount shortly after the market open.

Yes, there is a fair value for the Nasdaq futures (and all other stock index
futures). It is even easier to calculate and arbitrage because there are
only 100 stocks in the index. Yes, there are buy/sell programs for the
Nasdaq 100. If you have a large portfolio, you could look into basket
trading with one of the major brokerage firms and then just get a real time
data feed into your spreadsheet and you could try arbing it yourself.
(Probably not worth it, though. Unless you can figure out some way that
youll be able to do it with an edge over everyone else doing it.) |
